A 20-year-old Georgia man who was due to serve life prison term for murdering a 7-year-old girl last month has decided to end his life by hanging himself in a prison cell, according to state agency report.
Results of the autopsy investigation bared that Ryan Brunn, who earlier this week pleaded guilty to killing Jorelys Rivera in Canton, some 40 miles North of Atlanta confirmed that he has died of “ligature hanging and the manner of death was suicide,” the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a press release.
The convicted killer was confirmed to have hanged himself using his sweatshirt and investigators, including the medical examiner who conducted the autopsy found no evidence that would suggest otherwise.
Brunn was discovered unresponsive at around Thursday afternoon in his cell at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson. He died few a minutes later at a nearby hospital.
He was sentenced on Tuesday in a Cheerokee County courthouse to life imprisonment without the chance of parole after he pleaded guilty for the young girl’s gruesome murder, but he escaped penalty of death by lethal injection.
Brunn was a maintenance worker at the same apartment complex where the girl lived when he took the girl to an empty apartment and cut her throat with razor and beat her to death with the girl’s own skate.
