Health Diagnosis Danger By Turning to Google

More people are turning to the internet and searching through Google for help concerning health problems instead of seeking out medical advise from qualified doctors.

Doctors themselves are experimenting with online medicine advise but there are many experts saying that is dangerous for patients.

The concern stems from people receiving information from people are who are not qualified to provide medical advise.

While such websites as webmd receive a tremendous amount of attention from people seeking advise. There is still a lot of sites that are not credible

It appears that up to 41 percent of Canadians have turned to sites and alternative health products. While 9 percent use chat and support based groups.

Sholom Glouberman of Patients Association of Canada said ‘Patients are much more empowered now when they come into the health-care system because of the internet.’

A study was performed by a university hospital in the UK and their researched looked at five hundred websites and discovered that only 39% of them actually provided correct medical information. While up to 11% gave the wrong answers and 49% did not even provide an answer to them.
