After shining brightly on Oscar awards night in a plunging Zuhair Murad gown, Jennifer Lopez ditched the long dress for boxing gloves and little else in a photo shoot for V Magazine.
The American Idol judge showed her toned body and perfect abs in the spring issue’s cover photo, wearing boxing gloves, wrist’s strap, tiny tee, and men’s groin protector.
“I thought it was more graphic,” J. Lo said when asked why she choose the male version of a boxer over the female one. “It did make me feel tougher.”
J. Lo have recently split up with Marc Anthony and is currently dating Casper Smart who is 18 years her junior. She insisted that the photo shoot is not in any way connected with her break up with Mark Anthony.
“I mean, we’re parents and friends first. That will be the thread that ties us together. I don’t know if people expect it to be negative just because the relationship didn’t work out,” She further explained.
Aside from being one of the judges in the hugely popular American idol, J. Lo is also producing a Spanish-language Univision talent-search with Anthony called “Q’Viva.” Despite her massive popularity as a singer, J. Lo has a mixed record in producing or starring in movies.
Her 2010 movie starrer, The Back-up Plan, was a huge bomb at the box office that she was forced to admit that “You’re not going to hit the target or the bull’s-eye every time. That’s part of it.” This makes the photo shoot all the more relevant as she insists that she can take all the punches just like a real fighter.
